Day 8 of the 31 Day Blog Challenge: Biggest Pet Peeve

Oh, this has got to be my favorite thing to talk about. I don't necessarily think that I have a lot of pet peeves but there are certain manors that everyone should have. I would have to say that the top one of my list would have to be chewing with your mouth open. Let's be honest no one wants to see chewed up food that's in your mouth. I think the thing that bothers me the most with that is the sound that everyone makes when they chew with their mouths open. Yes, we know that food is delish but you don't need to make a statement every time you take a bite. If you chew with your mouths open around me, don't worry I will let you know. I know this all might sound a bit harsh to some people but to me it's like scratching nails on a chalk board.

Seven Peaks Saturday

My whole family has pass of all passes and whenever we are bored or have nothing better to do we go to Seven Peaks, Why not right?! It's always a blast whenever we go… it's a place where we can all just go and do our own thing but be together as a family at the same time. This last Saturday we went with a couple of us in the family. Alison and Erik joined us as well even though it was their Anniversary. We all had fun  in the sun :)

My Best Friends/ Sisters Wedding

Friday was my best Friends wedding, I started the day off at 4 AM woke up got myself ready and made it to her house by 6 AM to get her hair and make - up done before they had to head off to the temple. It was the sweetest thing as we were doing her hair and make - up her sweet soon-to-be husband came downstairs and told her that he had made breakfast for her (men, please take note every woman deserves this same treatment) When we were all done getting her all beautified and gorgeous for her big day I gave her a hug and wished her the best of luck during the sealing since, unfortunately I wasn't able to go in and join them since I have no been through the temple. I was going to make sure that I was outside the temple waiting for her as she walked out with her new husband

the day couldn't go more perfect. It was super sunny outside , the sky was blue with no clouds in sight, and it wasn't to hot that all of us were melting outside. The moment that her and her husband stepped out of those temple doors I couldn't believe that she was married. I wrote in an earlier blog post that it's so crazy that we are old enough to be getting married and having kids. Anyways back to the wedding day, She looked absolutely gorgeous in her wedding dress. The draper temple was just as beautiful as ever, when I arrived at the temple I went and sat down by her brothers  and one of them didn't even recognize me I don't think that I've changed THAT much since we lost each other but maybe I did… eh who know ha :)

During the Luncheon I sat down by all of her old roommates and friends from high school who I didn't really know any of them besides heather her photographer (who is an amazing photographer by the way) It was fun sitting and talking with all of them and getting to know them. Her mom made a little slide show of both Kinsley and Drew with pictures of them both growing up, It was hard not to cry while watching that. After that was all over I went to go say goodbye to Kinsley as I left the Luncheon and just started crying. I honestly was trying super hard not to cry but I completely lost it, I couldn't believe that my best friend and sister was married, but it was good to know that she had an amazing guy as her husband.

In between the luncheon and the reception I went home to go take a power nap since only having two hours of sleep catches up to you and bites you in the butt. During the reception, Heather and I went to the nearest grocery store to grab some decorations for their car...lets just say that it looked awesome!
The rest of their reception was so much fun, it was good seeing old neighbors that I haven't been able to see in forever and catch up with all of the old friends. I caught the bouquet :) but we will see if that tradition is true or not ha. As they were getting ready to leave the reception I couldn't help but cry again but at the same time I'm so happy for her and her husband. I can't wait for them to be able to join me when I get married (whenever that time comes! Ha ha)

Day 7 of the 31 Day Blog Challenge: What's your dream job?

My dream job ever since I have been a little girl has been to be Cinderella at Disneyland. I  honestly think that would be the coolest job to have. I always have people say well wouldn't that be miserable to stand out in the heat all day in a huge dress? Well, of course if you think of it that way ya, of course it wouldn't be the best job in the world. The way that I look at it who wouldn't want to be a princess just for a day? Let's face it every little girls dream is to be a princess one day, our dad's call us their little princesses and of course on our wedding days each of us is a princess but how incredible would it be to get all dolled up just for a day? Have all these little kids look up to you and just adore you. I might sound a little crazy but I think that would be the coolest thing in the world! Unfortunately to be apart of the cast at Disneyland you have to be under a certain height and for me I'm way taller than what they require.

Since I can't achieve my dream to be Cinderella at Disneyland I have a back- up dream job.  I've always wanted to go into the Dentistry field I don't know why but teeth have always fascinated me. I'm currently trying to achieve my dream job, I'm in school in the dental hygiene  program and I absolutely love it.  I have the most amazing Doctor that I internship for and get to watch all these really neat surgeries. I have definitely had the best experience with it so far. I'm only a year and a half away from being able to earn my degree and who knows I might just go in to Dental School and become a dentist.

Throw Back Thursday/ #TBT

I wanted to do a blog post in honor of #tbt, today I decided to pick a picture from my high school days when I was a cheerleader. Earlier this week I ran into one of the Cheer Coaches at my old high school, she has said that my name was brought up during practice that day because one of my old Cheer Coaches broke her nose during practice trying to fill in as a back spot while they were stunting.

Well to explain this a little we have to go back to my very first year as a cheerleader, I of course was a back spot in our stunt group. Before a basketball game we were warming up and practicing our stunts, well unfortunately one of our stunts went wrong and I got hit in the face, resulting in my nose being broken. Well I went to the doctor, got surgery on it and went to school the next week with a black eye and a cast on my nose. While rumors circulated around school that I got a nose job, I didn't...lets be honest what fifteen year old in her right mind would get a nose job? Hello, I would have at least waited until after high school to do that… :)

Every year after that I broke my nose during cheer practice resulting in a whapping four nose breaks, I think that I must have a record or something… Well after the second time breaking my nose my Dad had had enough and took me to the nearest sporting goods store to get a….wait for it….. Nose guard… yes everyone I actually wore a nose guard! It was probably the most humiliating thing that I ever had to do. During cheer camps I could have sworn that everyone stopped what they were doing and looked my direction when I put that ugly thing on.

During cheer practice we made it something that we just laughed off. I had my own theme song when ever I put it on, (to the tune from the batman theme song) "na na na na na na na na EMMA!" Ya, I was pretty much the coolest ninja turtle out there. At times I honestly felt really safe having it on, even though I didn't want to admit it most of the time it freaked me out to stunt most of the time, but who wants to be the wimpy cheerleader who doesn't stunt? Not me!

The nose guard now sits in a box in my room and whenever I pull it out all of these great memories come with it. Every time  we have get togethers' with people from high school the subject of remember when you broke your nose? All because of these incidents in High School of breaking my nose I was voted the most clumsy, my brothers gave me the nick name of plastic spastic, and everyone has a good laugh reliving the first day that I broke my nose. I don't mind that I get teased for it honestly, it makes for a good memory and a VERY good laugh.

Day 6 of the 31 Day Blog Challenge: Your last random act of kindness

This is kind of a tough one to come up with, I honestly try to do something nice for someone every day. I don't sit and count all the nice things that I do for someone, I think that would defeat the purpose of the whole act. I honestly just have kept a personal goal to reach out to people and help them in any way possible. Those random acts of kindness don't need to be bragged about putting others down, just simple , quiet acts of kindness are the best.

The greatest example of that would be secret sisters, at girls camp or cheer camp we would always have secret sisters. I know that for me when people do  random things for me it always makes me happy, even the ones that I have no clue who did it makes me feel special. It's good to know that people are out there that would go out of their way to do things for me. The main reason why I loved secret sisters is because it taught us that we could do really nice, charitable things for someone else without having to take credit for it. Even though when you do something nice for someone it always warms your heart, but the purpose of doing that act is to help somebody else out, it's not for your own benefit (at least that's my own opinion).

One of my favorite sayings comes from the Hymn "Have I done any good in the world today?" The title says it all. I keep this saying post on my mirror in my room to be as a little reminder to do those random acts of kindness everyday. I honestly believe that if we strive to do one act of kindness for someone everyday that we would find greater joy in life. I know that when I'm feeling down or discouraged the first thing that I turn to is what can I do for someone else?
